The city of Anchorage turned this into a homeless camp. Stay away I live in Anchorage about a mile from there.
STAY AWAY We visited Centennial Park Campground, no overnight stay.
Tips from campers about Centennial Park Campground
- Therealvinnyb Ask about a spot away from the train tracks. Know that the most famous water falls are Federal and there is a permit required to see then. You also must get a reservation.
- GSMTP Make sure you explore the old Highway and all the sights along the way (falls, hikes, and vista house! Fantastic!5 months ago Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA Holiday
- CtW HOOAH Multnomah Falls and the lodge is a must see, only 15 miles away. Also, we went to Thunder Island Brewing to eat, decent food, but awesome view. We sat on the patio overlooking Columbia River and Bridge of the Gods it was nice.6 months ago Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA Holiday

Tip for Other Campers:
All kinds of shopping and restaurants in Anchorage which include Costco and Sam's Club. There was a VZ store near the park. All kinds of activites. We went to the Anchorage Museum but didn't allow enough time to see it .

Stayed here 3 days while seeing Anchorage. I have mixed feelings about this park. Nice woodsy campground with level gravel spacious lots. The staff are nice & friendly. BUT! There are several glaring...
