Highly recommend the 80 mile drive from Lake Louise on the Ice Fields parkway to the Ice Fields discovery center or all the way to Jasper. We couldnt go to Jasper as the town i still recovering from the brutal fire in 2024. The tour to the Athabasca Glacier from the Discovery Center was the highlight of our trip. Tips from campers about Lake Louise Hard-Sided Campground
- DMC123 Electric only and buddy sites. Have a decent length electric site so you pull through backwards. The road you turn off of is also the access road to Lake Louise so if there is a guy with orange cones trying to make you go straight where you know you need to turn left, just give a signal and let him know you are trying to get to the campground. Tip for Other Campers:
There is a free shuttle from the campground to the Park and Ride should you wish to use it. But, it is located near the entrance (next to sites 2/3) so depending on where you are it could be a bit of a walk. No place to park your car or leave a bike.DO NOT go without getting your Lake Louise/Moraine shuttle tickets in advance. Even in the off season...

Tip for Other Campers:
If you are a photographer, you may want to stay in the area a couple of days as the weather can be erratic. We book several days of shuttles for this reason....
