- Suesan_838 The town of Murphy's with great resturants, wine tasting and fun creek that runs through the town for swimming, The Ironstone winery with large outdoor amphitheatre a gorgeous winery. They say they are dog friendly,but we found it to be more dog tolerant. Lake Melones boating lake with hiking trails dogs welcome , Calaveras Big Trees state park with good hiking beautiful scenery. The historic town of Colombia with period costumes, a saloon, Blacksmith and many other store fronts that reflect the gold rush time.
