Tips from campers about Texas Spring
- SoCalTricia Cell signal is terrible - 3G only. So dont expect to use your hot spot or internet. But you can make calls. Also, there is one gas station in Furnace Creek. In March 2022, it was about $7.50/gallon. Next closest station was in Stovepipe Wells, about 30 miles, or in Baker, about 114 miles.3 years ago Texas Spring
- Tchiass Bring what you need with you.1 month ago Texas Spring
- PreCambrian Make certain to get everything that you need before you get there. Stock up in Las Vegas or Bakersfield, or at a minimum Pahrump or Tehachapi. Fuel in Pahrump was cheaper than in Las Vegas. Not much at the park. Golden Canyon hike is very good. Walking out to Badwater was a disappointment for me. Be prepared for wind as it can be very windy.2 years ago Texas Spring

“Great NPS CG, No Cell Data or Generators”
Nightly Rate: $16 USD
There is no usable cellular service on Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile. You can get text messages and calls, but no data of any significance. Starlink works well. Verizon and T-Mobile was via a roof mounted...

“Best Central Location in Death Valley”
Nightly Rate: $8 USD
Who doesn't want to camp somewhere with death in name? Texas Spring is dry, no generators. Sunset is down the hill and allows generators. Furnace Creek is across the road, reservable with some full...

Tip for Other Campers:
Arrive full of fuel. Two ice creams were $20. Most sites are around Furnace Creek. Dantes View and Artists Drive were highlights. Two days minimum. Camp in winter. Can be windy.
