Tips from campers about Skyline Wilderness Park
- Mridley *Check in before 7PMgate locks and requires code to get in. * Bring a frisbee & bicycles. We were sad we didnt have our bikes with us. Most people did and seemed to enjoy the trails. Great family activities of frisbee golf and trails. I believe there is a soccer field and basketball too. There is a lot of open space for play in the community park area. * For couples, I highly encourage you to visit one of the local wineries for wine tasting, but get a reservation in advance. One of our favorite wineries is V. Sattui in St. Helens because of their heritage, variety of wines, handicap accessibility, fantastic picnic deli (get sandwiches, salads condiments for the RV!!) or enjoy under shade trees and vineyard picnic tables. * Take a drive over to the town of Sonoma for the day. Enjoy lunch or dinner and dine at Della Santinas restaurant just off one of Californias most historic plazas (where the movie Toy Story premiered and centuries earlier General Vallejo helped California become California). Della Santinas back arbor/patio and fountain make mess feel like Im on the Italian Mediterranean. Enjoy their incredible olive-balsamic dipping oil, a salad, outstanding lasagna or fish (hard for me to choose between these), and one of their divine desserts, including gelato or the best tiramisu EVER!!! They also have a very nice selection of regional wines by the glass or buy a bottle for consuming at the restaurant or taking home. You can also buy the locally produced fresh olive oil and balsamic vinegar. What an incredible difference between stale and fresh!!! (We bought some for the RV & need more already) This fine Della Santina family/staff will treat you well and are only a lovely 20-30 minute drive through winding vineyards, trees, fields, river valley, and cow speckled hills. Spend some time enjoying the historic plaza, General Vallejos home/property, the old fort, the Sonoma Jack cheese factory and more while in Sonoma.4 years ago Skyline Wilderness Park

We arrived at the campground on August 30 and stayed until September 2. Our experience was a mixed bag. We received a call at 7:50 PM asking about our estimated time of arrival, which was a nice touch...
