“Good Hikes, Showers and facilities limited”
Nightly Rate: $40 USD
Good park, one of the newer National Parks. Go for the hikes and fairly laid back atmosphere. One of the few places that you can see Condors, take your binoculars along. For me, this is a short ride...

“Electric is a Plus in cold weather”
Nightly Rate: $32 USD
Camped in site #87. Great site with clear skies for Starlink. Glad that we had Starlink because Verizon cell service was very limited. 4 stars for cleanliness because of the number of squirrel holes...

- Moe and Flo are on the go Pulling a large rig to this campground is not for the timid. Know your rig and your skills. We came up from Bakersfield in the south on California 41, 33, 198, and 25. This route included a warning for big rigs and those with more than 30 feet from kingpin to rear axle. Add in some rain and it was too much fun. The route takes you through miles of pecan orchards, past the Wonderful Companys processing plant, and through lush pastureland for ranches that I did not know were in California. The RV campground has 30 amp electric, a dump station, and potable water fill spigots disbursed around the loop. Though not on the campground map, there is a water spigot between sites 110/111 and between sites 112/113. You cannot stay hooked up to the water but it makes initial fill and refill so convenient. Our site 111 was 54 feet to the bumps with plenty of room to overhang and plenty of room for tow vehicle. If you are in a smaller rig or you are a tent camper and you dont need electricity the primitive sites are fabulous and most have huge shade trees. We walked all of the camping loops and recommend the loops away from the park road including sites 1-79. We were disappointed that during our visit the campground store and park store were only open on the weekend. Same with the park shuttle. There were no rangers or ranger programs. The Bear Gulch nature center was closed. In the campground we saw deer, turkey, quail, acorn woodpeckers and many other birds. Hike Hike Hike. Why else would you be here!? If you are tall or wide the Bear Caves trails are going to be a problem. Bring your water and know your limits.3 years ago Pinnacles Campground
- 33aaMoose There were some splendid hikes here. We hiked from Moses Spring to the Bear Gulch Cave and then the Reservoir, and made it a loop by coming back on the Rim Trail. I understand this is the most popular hike in the park, and well deserved. The next day we went on the Old Pinnacles Trail to the Balconies Cave. The Bear Gulch cave is tame; the Balconies cave is wild with some fun scrambling and squeezing adventures. We came back on the Balonies Cliff Trail - stunning. We did see some of the great condors there, flying high overhead and captured them with cameras. We lucked out that both caves were open. Apparently, this is not often the case. We heard the area explodes in wildflowers in the Spring, something we'll return to see.3 years ago Pinnacles Campground

“Average at Best”

The campsites at this historic park (Monument established in 1909) were OK. RV sites had power, but no water, no cell service (Verizon), no sewer. Water is available and they have wi-fi at the camp...

Tip for Other Campers:
Windy and narrow road to the he Park. Not real suitable for big rigs. I wouldn't try it with anything longer than 30 ft.
