Make sure you have a flashlight on you all the time. Its very very dark with the trees and no lamp posts or street lights. . The park says they close the gate at night but they didnt (which was convenient for us night owls who gotta make a late night run). The site is almost butt up against a military base which is really cool but they have a shooting range...

Near the north end of Camp Pendleton. Hiking path to the beach. Clean restrooms and showers. We camped at San Onofre State Beach, San Mateo Campground in a Travel Trailer.
