- God Bless America Many great hikes in the area, especially north of Aspen. One spectacular drive was Woody Creek Road. It starts out as an asphalt road, then turns into an easy passenger car dirt road that climbs the mountain. It is approximately 15 miles to where it reaches the top and the view is incredible - just stay to the left at the only fork in the road.9 years ago Aspen-Basalt Campground
