Tip for Other Campers:
Take a day trip to Silverton and Ouray. Beautiful drive on the Million Dollar Highway. Durango is a really neat town. Especially Downtown. Lots of breweries and eateries....

10 minutes from Durango off highway 550. Lots of room between sites and lots of trees. Very level sites. One of our favorites. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

- Poe Dog IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WEST ON I-84 DO NOT TAKE THE EXIT FOR HWY 191. ITS A 14 MILE DRIVE OF NARROW TWISTING ROAD. CONTINUE WEST TO I-380 AND TAKE THE EXIT FOR TOBYHANNA. THE STATE PARK IS JUST A SHORT DRIVE FROM THE INTERSTATE.3 years ago Tobyhanna State Park

“Small cozy campground just outside of Durango”
Nightly Rate: $85 USD
Approximately 6 miles north of Durango. We choose a large pull thru site for our 41 ft Motorhome. We spent a week exploring the area. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tip for Other Campers:
Durango Hot Springs is worth the visit and it's less than 3 miles from the park. There are about a dozen different pools with temperatures ranging from 90-107 degrees. We didn't opt to do into the "cold plunge" pool at 46 degrees. They also have a bar with various alcoholic beverages available....
