Marathon is VERY bikeable! We even got groceries via bikes! Make sure to check out Crane Point Hammock and get a fish pedicure!!! Also 7 mile Bridge is worth the views. We also went even further South to Key West for a day-trip.

We came here to go scuba diving. I highly recommend Captain Hook's - Marathon, which was very close to this campground. There are a lot of restaurants with noise and bar food, but we would recommend 'The Wreck," "Castaways" and "Frank's Grill." If one does stay here, ask for site 24 or 25 at the end of the line. - Fulltimersrv Walmart and shopping was 2 miles. St Paul was 6 miles and very pretty capital. Harriett Island is one of the best places to take picture of the skyline. Minneapolis was 20 miles and pretty city. Stone Arch Bridge is one of the best places to take picture of the skyline. Mall of America is 30 minutes and a very interesting mall which has an amusement park and aquarium. Minnehaha Falls is 20 minutes very pretty and worth a visit. Happy hour is your friend in Marathon. Best happy hour in town is the Key Colony. Everything is $5. We also liked Castaways, Havana Jacks, Key Fisheries, Sunset Grille. Dockside and Overseas are great venues for live music.

Tip for Other Campers:
Nice place to stay short term for springboarding to the other Keys or after a weekend in Key West. Also a nice place to stay if you wish to EASILY rent a boat or go Kayaking. Decent showers and laundry. Unique AquaHut houseboat rooms.
