“Primitive; good location for seeing sights around Big Cypress Preserve”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
Nice, small, primitive campground, and quiet. Sites on the RV side lack shade but are nicely spaced and roomy. Recreation.gov flags it as popular with OHV enthusiasts and hunters, but it was not full...

Tip for Other Campers:
The visitor center parking lot at Shark Valley, the north entrance to Everglades NP, is 40 minutes away and has space for 4 RVs/buses; we got there early on a Sunday (lot opens 8:30 am) with our rig (22 ft trailer and pickup). By the time we left in mid-afternoon, lot was full and there was a long line of cars waiting to get in.Other nearby points...
“A Great Dry Camping Experience”
Nightly Rate: $20 USD
All sites sit on the perimeter of the small lake with a gorgeous view to the west. There were two camp hosts who alternated thus always a friendly face around if you had any questions or problems. We...

“Tucked Away”

Just down a dirt road off the main Everglades road. Is this quiet gem. It has no services, but the spaces are flat and roomy and all face the lake. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 6 AM, we ran the...

“Peaceful, quiet, stay by a clear water lake.”
Nightly Rate: $12 USD
Great host and good neighbors. Widely spaced sites a mile off the highway so we really enjoyed the foggy mornings and the beautiful sunset. I could see lots of fish, including peacock bass, in the...

Tip for Other Campers:
No water or dump station at the campground, but there is a nice dump station (with well-separated fresh water spigot) 5 miles away at the Big Cypress volunteer campground, near the Nathanial P. Reed Visitor Center. We went in March, and the bugs were not bad except at dawn and dusk, with a few stray mosquitos throughout the night. We spent one day visiting...
