There are some good restaurants in the area, but you will have to do some research. The prices are reasonable especially when comparing them to similar establishments on the coasts of Florida.

- KDI24 1. If you are coming from Indianapolis : There is still construction at the intersection of HWY 52 and 47 -> GPS still make you do a U turn at the next intersection. We just took the next available road on the left (W 650 N, not even half a mile after) which brings you in the back of Thorntown and we did not have any issues on this side road ( we have a travel trailer, but there was enough space for a motorhome and a 5th wheel). 2. 45 min : Indianapolis speedway, mostly highways the entire time 3. 15 min from Lebanon -> the Americana pub was nice and the Klooz Brews.9 months ago Old Mill Run Park Campground

Be sure to do an airboat ride on Lake Okeechobee. What an amazing, alligator filled, large lake. You also have to eat at Lakesy- a true central Florida eatery with local cuisine. If it swims or crawls its likely on their menu! There are many paved bike trails running around the perimeter of the lake that offer another great perspective of the immense body...

Not much in the area. Lake Okeechobee, a few restaurants, bars, a few grocery stores, etc. Watch for tree frogs and lizzards....ugh
