This is one of our favorite campgrounds in Idaho. It is located on Redfish Lake and has incredible views of the lake and Sawtooth Mountains. Because of its location and "first come, first serve'...

Tip for Other Campers:

Go check out the Redfish Lake Lodge. They have live music on Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays. Beautiful views. Take a kayak out on a Little Redfish Lake. The town of Stanley is charming and you have to make a stop there. We ended up going often in order to check in with our family and get cell service. Just one little grocery store but they have everything...

Tips from campers about Sockeye at Redfish Lake

  • Nothing But Blue Skies The best time to get a campsite is to arrive on Sunday or Monday mornings.
  • Danruz Go check out the Redfish Lake Lodge. They have live music on Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays. Beautiful views. Take a kayak out on a Little Redfish Lake. The town of Stanley is charming and you have to make a stop there. We ended up going often in order to check in with our family and get cell service. Just one little grocery store but they have everything you need. For such a little town, they have amazing food! Check out Sawtooth Baking Company. AMAZING food and baked goods! Great fishing in the area! Try Yankee fork of the Salmon River, dredge pond number 4. Hit some rainbow trout there. We also did a tour of the Salmon River/sawtooth fish hatchery. Very educational and fun!
  • ElliottM There are numerous trails in the area, including some that follow the shoreline, so get out and enjoy nature. There's also a dog-friendly beach on the lake.

We were here in the off-season (1st week of October), and this was the only campground by the lake still open. With the weather still decent, the sites were in demand, and we had to spend one night at...

Tip for Other Campers:

Avoid eating at the lodge. The food was ok, but way over priced and the service was terrible! Stick to the M&Ms and beef jerky next door at the gift shop!
