Tips from campers about Starved Rock Family Campground
- Spudley The big attraction in the area is the Starved Rock State Park. It's definitely a must see if you are staying at the campground. It's just around 6 miles away. There are several nice hiking trails thru the park and excellent views of the Illinois river. The trails are sort of medium difficulty with some areas with longer steps. Keep an I on the kids as there are pretty step cliff edges along the river. However this geology gives some really incredible views from the rocks.9 months ago Starved Rock Family Campground

Tip for Other Campers:
Access from Highway 80 is easy although the Illinois roads (US 39 from the South and then US 80 for about 4 miles to the campground) are in horrible shape when towing a travel trailer. My white noise unit couldn't block overnite traffic noise.

“Decent Park in Starved Rock Area”
Nightly Rate: $55 USD
Though a 10 minute drive from the Starved Rock SP itself, a nice place to stay a little off the beaten path. We camped at Starved Rock Family Campground in a Motorhome.
