Tip for Other Campers:
Close to downtown with shopping and entertainment. I had a great time at the Blockhouse. An 8 piece band played and rocked the house. Very friendly crowd.
Tips from campers about Paynetown State Recreation Area - Monroe Lake
- bamain The town of Bloomington was close and fun to visit. The kids loved going to the Chocolate Moose for ice cream.
- KyKampers There will be 4 dump stations open in the future (no idea why they chose the time around the eclipse to tie up 3 with repaving)! While there isnt water at the sites, it is available via spigots around the CG. Bloomington is only 15 minutes away if you need anything that you cant find in the very well-stocked camp store.
- Jodys Joy Close to downtown with shopping and entertainment. I had a great time at the Blockhouse. An 8 piece band played and rocked the house. Very friendly crowd.
