“Disappointing park facilities”

It is a large park with a lake and 681 campsites, many with electricity. It has flush toilets and free showers. Unfortunately, the showers offered little privacy and had few places to put your clothes...

“Large lake in State Park 30 miles out of town”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
Wichita area needs lots of water. The lake is down and sail boats are out of the water. We camped at Cheney State Park, East Shore Area in a Travel Trailer.

Park was nice, older but clean. Water level in the reservoir is very low 10 or 15 feet down. We camped at Cheney State Park, East Shore Area in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:
About 6 miles of the main road. Good roads conditions. Don't take the dirt road to the right. Main entrance is ahead on left.

You need a $5 day pass (or $40 annual) in addition to your camping fee. Caught us by surprise last year when we visited another Kansas state park, so we were ready this time.
