Most things were closed since it was Sunday, but my husband asked a local who sent us to Crazy Bout Crawfish. Oh my!!! What a great surprise. We had a seafood boil that included snow crab. Tips from campers about Lake Fausse Pointe State Park
- GearDown22 On the first Saturday of every month, there is a group that does demonstrations and tastings. It’s the “Cajun Creole Cookers” which is a chapter of the LA Dutch Oven Society. We weren’t there long enough to see this but I’ll bet the food is delicious. If you’re planning a trip through Louisiana, I’d recommend trying to time it so that you can partake in this event. As a Louisiana native, I can assure you that you’re more likely to get the real deal when it comes to down home authentic Cajun food made by real Cajun people. The hiking trails bring you right through the marsh and swamp and are teeming with plant and animal life. The trails are well marked and range from less than 1 mile to just over 3 miles. You can rent canoes and kayaks. They even have some primitive campsites that you can only get to by canoe!4 years ago Lake Fausse Pointe State Park
