“Beautiful City Campground ”

Great views, right on the river. There is a park next door with an extraordinary play structure for the kids and beach area. Bike and water equipment rentals also available. Some road noise but not...

Tips from campers about City of Houghton RV Park
- Catrin Park beside the campground with a cool playground. During the summer they have kayak rental. They also have a launch site. Not sure if it cost. Easy walk to downtown and resturants. It is about 1 hour to Copper Harbor and 1 1/2 hours to Porcupine Mountains. There is a mine in Hancock, but it cost more than we were willing to pay at $38 a person. We did go to Michigan Tech Univ. mineral museum. It was a nice rainy day activity at $8 a person. We did purchase a Michigan State park pass. It paid for itself early on in our trip. There is a State park in the area that we did not go to because of the rain, but used it in Copper Harbor and Porcupine Mtns.2 years ago City of Houghton RV Park
- AZ_Travelers It is a requirement to go to Roy's Bakery just down the road from the park. They have the best pasties in various flavors, we really liked the pizza pasty (only on Wed and Fri). They also have many other baked goods as well as a service menu including great sandwiches. The Ambassador has really great pizza, but they tend to be amazingly busy on weekends. Taking tours of the copper mines nearby is a must. The drive up to Copper Harbor is a nice day activity.3 years ago City of Houghton RV Park
