Tip for Other Campers:
Only overnighted so didn't explore but walked the two closed campground loops. Fall color was magnificent.

Tips from campers about Wallace State Park
- Jason Gray Knife River National Historic Site (1 mile north) is accessible by walking trail or driving. Excellent hiking trails through prairie and forest areas, and to the Missouri River. Interesting "earthlodge" home reconstruction typical of the Hidatsa tribe that would have been used by Sakakawea before she joined up with the Lewis and Clark expedition. L&C Interp Center also available in Washburn about 20 minutes east that has even more about the expedition.6 years ago Sakakawea City Park

“Many paved sites nestled in trees”

Our site was mostly level, surrounded on 3 sides by trees. Large enough to accommodate hosting 12 campers from other sites for dinner and games. We camped at Wallace State Park in a Travel Trailer.
