Tips from campers about Troy, MT
- JeannBob Visit Kootenai Falls, Yaak Falls, Ross Creek Cedars. There is a seasonal farmer's market in Troy.3 months ago Kootenai River Campground
- Kcirce More to do in the area than you would think. Definitely go to Kootenai Falls and the Swinging Bridge just down the road maybe 10 miles. We lucked out and got to watch more than 2 dozed kayakers go down the falls and rapids. We ventured back again to Bonners Ferry and the Kootenai Natural Wildlife Refuge (went 2 years ago). Traipsed up to Mystic Falls which is not far, but ventured further up off the beaten trail to see if we could see more (not really) and drove the 4.5 mile scenic drive thru. Was kinda boring again as didn't really see anything. I guess time of year might be important. Visited Libby Dam which was nice, and Ross Creek Cedars which was lovely, easy walk thru dense forest of huge trees. Was difficult to find though so be careful on directions. Kayaked at Alford Lake, about 6 miles up above the campground. Ask Chris for directions or you'll never find it! Lovely lake. Unfortunately didn't see the moose or loons so highly talked about. Went to Libby to Cabinet Mountain Brewery and had an excellent pizza.7 months ago Kootenai River Campground
- Penny&Will Troy, Montana is a quaint mountain town with a couple of good restaurants and stores. We highly recommend the nearby Kootenai Falls and Swinging Bridge as well as the nearby Ross Cedar walking trail. Both are absolutely beautiful. We drove to a fantastic restaurant called Riverbend outside of the nearby town of Libby, MT, where the food was exceptional as well as the service.8 months ago Kootenai River Campground
