“Beautiful campground with lots to do”

We camped there in mid-November. The sites are spacious, and there were few people out. There is a playground near the campground, and there are other activities available, especially on the weekends....

Tip for Other Campers:
Lots to do in the area. SAC Museum and Wildlife Safari are next door. Lots do do in the park, too. For dinner, we suggest Parker's BBQ near Ashland.

Tip for Other Campers:
Mahoney has a small number of "full hookup" sites and they fill up really quickly. They have a much larger number of electricity only sites (including the one that we stayed at - Site 54). A lot of their sites are NOT reservable. They are "walkup reservation" only. Typically, if you arrive on a Wednesday you will have no trouble getting whatever site you wan....
