Mt. Airy is worth the visit. Go to the Andy Griffith musuem and ride by his childhood home. A fun old Main street with plenty of shops to go in and out of. We ate the Gondola Italian Restaurant in Mt. Airy. The spaghetti with meat sauce and parmesan chicken was very good....

Of course, you have to go into town for the Mayberry sights. It's really kind of cool. Many shops with fudge, pies and memorabilia. Going to try to go to Pilot Mtn tomorrow...
