Tip for Other Campers:

Enjoyed our trip to Jacksonville and the beach is only about 40 minutes away. Many restaurants to choose from in Jacksonville. Grocery store, Hardees and Dollar General less than half mile away.

Tips from campers about The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort

  • rayschilke Lots of nature and attractions to see in this area of the Smokies. A dream place for motorcycle riders. It is an hour drive to more that could be seen in a week.
  • Lkldawg1 Review their website for driving routes to get there!
  • DaBoo My advice? Plan multiple Teaberry Hill trips (or spend a month ;-)). That way you have more time to spend at the camp and also explore the area (we had planned a motorcycle trip everyday for the week, I wish I would've had a day or two of just "camping" or rafting or tubing...). We enjoyed some new local back roads (many of them) for motorcycling (of course there's the Tail of the Dragon - giggle fun, but there's more roads to explore!). Fontana Dam was a well spent stop. For me, it was worth taking the time going back to Townsend: go 'up' the tail, drive the entire Foothills Parkway (all the way to end), drive back down 321 to eat in Townsend and then ride down the Little River Gorge Road - it has been my favorite road for many years. We did go "full circle" through Cherokee back to Teaberry Hill - but that was a very long day or riding - stunning - but long.

Hook ups are fantastic. Bath house was immaculate. Nice roomy sites. They have golf carts you can rent. They also have a boat ramp to put in small boats/kayaks. Also, their off season rates are around...

No real shade at the campsites. Very clean bathhouse. The pool was amazing. Looking forward to future expansion of this campground. We camped at The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort in a Motorhome.

The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort, manager at The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort responded to this review on 07/22/24:

Hello, we do apologize our beach is not 100% ready yet. We do work with a local lake and pond biologist that treat the lakes for algae. Part of that treatment is dyeing the lakes as it helps deflect sunlight and slows algae growth. We have had the water tested to confirm it is safe to swim in. Our pool had just opened prior to the 4th of July weekend. We have umbrellas coming in this week. Being a brand-new resort, we are still fine-tuning and will continue to add new features and amenities, that includes planting trees at campsites to offer more shade. We hope to see you in the fall when it's not so hot!
