- RandyMH Bring everything you need. Nearest grocery is about 20 minutes away. Roads coming off Interstate 59 have several sharp curves so drive slowly. Hueytown is about 45 minutes away with several eateries etc. You are about an hour from Birmingham. Personally like the on water lots but, the off water ones are very nice and, only bath house is in that area. Gate code required for vehicle entry.3 months ago Burchfield Branch Park

Tip for Other Campers:
It rained for most of our stay, so we did some awesome rainy day things: the butterfly conservatory (beautiful creatures, lovely gardens surrounding); Bird Kingdom (kinda pricey, but lots of different species ). We also hiked the gorge on the one clear day we had. Quite a work out!!! But worth it. Only have to pay to park, and the hike is free. The floral...
