It's what they called "shoulder season" so the park wasn't at all full. Sites are nice & flat & we had plenty of room so I didn't need to disconnect. It's called "Big Pines" and although I've seen...

Tips from campers about Big Pines RV Park

  • narasr Crater Lake National Park is a must see when you're here. The north entrance may be closed (usually opens very late May) so you'll have to travel about 1.5 hours to the South Entrance. But if you have a beautiful day and can see the lake, it is spectacular. The web site says you'll have a 20% chance to see the lake. We had a perfect day and the lake is the most incredible blue that you will ever see.
  • A Life After Trauma We didnt make it to the lake due to a truck breakdown. Shawn & Alena from High Country Automotive, located just down the street from the campground, came out on a Sunday afternoon and rescued us from the side of the road 6 miles from Crater Lake. If you have problems, give High Country Automotive a call!
  • Diane and Tom There is a brochure in the office that shows 4 different long, scenic drives in the region. GO! They are beautiful. You are 20 miles south of Lapine, and 30 miles south of Bend. All have shopping. The tiny town of Crescent has nothing really but a gas station and Dollar General.
