Tip for Other Campers:
We enjoyed Johnson Creek Tavern (2 miles?) and Seaside Bar and Grill (4 miles). And if you havent toured Beaufort, its a very nice place to visit with a historic downtown.

Beach biking and trail walking/biking. Campground is located before the park entrance so had to turn around.
Tips from campers about Hunting Island State Park
- SCLove2RV Choose your site wisely based on the size of your Rig. The campground entrance is the first entrace. There are 2 other entrances - one to the Lighthouse and one to the Nature Center. At the Nature Center entrance, make sure you take the trail to the "Boneyard." A very interesting place where you can see how a barrier island ebbs and flows as it relates to beach erosion. The lighthouse is currently closed to climbing (will open again in 2025) but it is still very cool to see and provides some good photography opportunities. Johnson's Tavern is about 1 mile from the campground and is a great restaurant!2 years ago Hunting Island State Park

“Great location right by the ocean”

Nice park right on the beach, a little costly without full hookups. We camped at Hunting Island State Park in a Motorhome.
