- Patti_367 Site #1, where we stayed, was right across from one of the playgrounds. Since we don't have young kids, next time we would camp further down the way for a better, unobstructed view of the water. Fun shopping in La Crosse. - JKPete Timmers 10 Mile Pub was a great place to eat and close by without going into LaCross. Live music the night we were there. The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadeloupe was beautiful and so worth checking out. Free will offering. From there, turn by Timmers to Grandad Overlook. Amazing views! We will be heading there next spring. I see in most of the pictures that many RV's don't have their awnings open, or out. Is there an issue with awnings being used for shade?...
