Even though the campground was full, it was very quiet! We weren't here to fish, but it looked like many people were and the fishing was good. The bathrooms were extraordinary clean. Our gravel pad...

Tips from campers about Roy Lake State Park

  • JenZee There is plenty of fishing at the park,, and you can swim in the lake. Fort Sisseton, which is about ten minutes away, was interesting, and took about two hours to see. We had kids with us (ages 17, 12, and 11) and they had fun doing the scavenger hunts the park ranger there provided. There aren't many other things to do unless you go to the town of Sisseton, which is about 30 minutes away. One frustration we had is that the signage to get to Roy Lake State Park is terrible. We stayed at the East Campground and nearly missed our turn because we saw a sign, but the sign made it seem like the campground was straight ahead instead of a right turn.
