“One of the Better Utah State Parks”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
Starvation Lake is beautiful and the mountain loop overlooks it while the beach loop is lower and next to the lake. I prefer the mountain loop just because it's a bit removed from a lot of activity....

Tip for Other Campers:
Duchesne has what you need at Al's Foodtown, which is kind of a combo grocery and department store. There is also a quirky little coffee shop where I stopped in and got a cinnamon roll for the road. However, don't try to do anything in Duchesne on a Sunday, as everything is closed except the gas stations and Burger King.
“Nice park for our first trip”

This was our shake down weekend for our new 5th wheel and it was a good place to do it. Clean park, easy to get around. Large reservoir with quite a few boats, we heard the fishing wasnt great this...

Tips from campers about Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation
- RRKaren The guided hike was very informative regarding the history of the park, the Native people who lived here, and the petroglyphs they left behind - I highly recommend! It was very interesting to watch the rock climbers with their huge pads to fall upon! This state park attracts a lot of climbers due to the natural hand holds in the mountains. The state park limits the number of people in the park, which is good.
- David & Pamela Take advantage of the areas that you have general access to and if you have time, get a Ranger Guided Tour in the other areas (2.5hrs). Be aware that this is a climbing destination so there are LOTS of climbers carrying bouldering mats/crash pads up to the base of the rock they intend to climb. The park limits the visitation to 70hds at any one time and they regulate that headcount at the main gate. We hiked most of the trails in the north section and never felt crowded. Lots of rabbits around the campground and yes, we did hear the howl of some coyotes around dusk.3 weeks ago Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site
- Hopefultraveler The rock formations and pictographs in this park are amazing! They limit the number of people who can enter each day, so check out hiking permits and guided hikes prior to arriving. It is a very popular bouldering park.1 month ago Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site

“Overlooks the reservoir!”
Nightly Rate: $35 USD
We got a spot with a view of the reservoir. The bathrooms and bath houses were kept clean, although a bit smelly. Im sure it was from the crowd over the weekend, since we arrived Sunday afternoon. Our...

“Nice campground - pretty area”

Full hook up, paved, level spots. At one point we were the only campers other than the camp host. Then we saw just a couple of others during our 3 night stay. The back in spots farthest from the water...

“Nice for a few days ”
Nightly Rate: $20 USD
We go here every year for a family reunion. It's not a bad place if you like water. Not a lot of shade on the upper campground. Great views from up there. We've noticed the grounds keeping has slacked...

Tip for Other Campers:
Very small town and not a lot in town. You can get what you need mostly. People are very friendly usually.
