Park is ok. All the necessities. Close to Arches National Park. Limited WiFi, extra fee for premium WiFi. We camped at Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway in a Fifth Wheel.

Beware, this is NOT a resort. We stayed here for a week in October and booked one of their premium pull-through sites. Let me start by saying that the staff was wonderful, they were friendly and...

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry that you were disappointed in your camping experience this time, but we are pleased to hear that you received a warm welcome from our friendly staff. We appreciate the feedback, and we are pleased to note that we have already begun plans to update nearly all of the issues you identified. It's a process, of course, but we look forward to offering more shade options, firepit seating, and improved site conditions for our guests. We would love to welcome you back again after these improvements are completed, and we hope you will give us another opportunity to make a great impression in the future. Safe travels and happy camping!

Tips from campers about Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway

  • Blinkies Proper Brewery has good beer and amazing poutine! Moab Brewery has good beer, but only mediocre food. The chicken and waffles and eggs rancheros at the Canyon Steak and Waffle were not good, but the breakfast at Moab Diner was good. The parks are amazing and definitely worth the trip. There are plenty of hikes, but we suggest you do them in early mornings during summer. You must see the sunrise at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands NP and the petroglyphs on Potash Road (on the right at the sign).
  • RVShrink Great access to back way into Arches if you go through Willow Springs Rd and have 4-wheel vehicle. Take the side trip to Whale's Eye arch. We had it to ourselves.
  • Swampowl ate supper at The Broken Oar. Even though we arrived just as they opened (at 5pm), the food took a long time to come. My food was okay--grilled fish, green beans and sweet potato fries. But they'd drenched the sweet potato fries in powdered sugar, so they tasted like a powdered sugar doughnut. Yuck. But the French Dip Sandwich was excellent.

We've stayed at Sun Outdoors parks in different places and have always been pleased. However, this one was a disappointment. The gravel they did have is all mixed into the dirt. Even the dog park is...
