Tip for Other Campers:
There used to be a golf course across the street but it has been closed for a while. The Double Barrel Bar is open and draws a little crowd at night. The Backwater bar and grill on the highway looked to be a popular place. We did get to visit the Tomah Urgent care/emergency room and they were very nice and attentive on a friday night.
Tips from campers about Woods Edge Campground
- OHCal1988 This campground is lovely! Don't miss the nature trails that circle the campground. It is located an easy drive from Newport which has a working fisherman's wharf - tourist shops, real (and noisy) Sealions and great seafood restaurants galore. Even closer is a Walmart, Fred Meyer and an Ace hardware where Michael went way above and beyond to help us repair our gas fire-ring....The kite store in Newport is worth seeing, and the Area nearby known as Nye Beach is as well. The Mc Donald's lot is a bit too tight for an RV but there is plenty of room at Burger King across the road. This campground is in a quiet location off the beaten path. I didn't use bathrooms, but the grounds were well kept. I would stay here again We camped at Woods Edge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
