Tips from campers about Ponderosa Campground
- Betsy_02 Bemidji is 30 minutes north and Park Rapids is 30 minutes south. Groceries, Walmart and laundromats are found either place. Besides Paul Bunyan & Babe there is a museum and interesting metal sculptures on street corners in Bemidji. North entrance to Lake Itasca State Park gives easy access to the Mississippi headwaters.9 months ago Camp Itasca

“Sites very close together”

Neighbors sewer dump six feet from my door. Even less to picknik table. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Buffalo bill museum is a must see also trail town and a great cowboy dinner show. The people here are awesome

Tip for Other Campers:
The Beartooth Scenic Highway is a fantastic drive. We followed it up with the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway, which was also excellent. It is a full day of driving, but it is unforgettable. There are several fun spots to grab a beer and do some shopping.
