In Belen, if you like Mexican pastries try Belen Panaderia on Main St. Pete's is also excellent New Mexican food. Also, Burritos Alistante on N. Main has excellent breakfast burritos - open until 2:00 pm (I think).

Tip for Other Campers:
Be sure to visit Old Mesilla and El Portal restaurant. The drive through the valley/pecan orchards was very nice. Stopped at the Rio Grande Winery - Gordon was such a nice person.
We planned a short stay here to visit Joshua Tree National Park - figured it should be a good deal being a military campground. Biggest issue is there is no on-site camp host - registration is done...
