“Oasis in the heart of the forest! ”
Nightly Rate: $33 USD
We had Site #13 & I think it was the best in the park. Easy to back into. No one else around. Direct access to the river from the back of the site. Great fire pit and picnic table. Huge trees...

Apple Maps took us up the road to crystal mountain resort which is a dead end and the wrong direction. Seems like theres two options for the campground and we chose the wrong one to navigate to. We did the Silver Falls Loop trail (30 min away) and it was absolutely gorgeous. 3.5 mi RT. The falls were incredible.
“Incredible access to the ocean! ”
Nightly Rate: $35 USD
This is an older state park with amazing access to the ocean, both in views and beach. The site was not level but we were able to make it work with our leveling blocks. There were quarter showers that...

This SP was not on our itinerary; we were planning on staying dispersed in the area, but wanted a few more comforts and boy, did we get a treat! We did not have reservations and they worked it out for...

Tip for Other Campers:
In town, Escalante Outfitters provided us an amazing pizza & also offered coffee & other outdoor gear.We drove to the Peek-a-boo & Spooky Gulch slot canyons from our campsite and it took one hour (of really bumpy, dirt roads) each way. TOTALLY WORTH IT. To do both slots, it was five miles round trip but the first and last miles are flat ridge walks....

This was an amazing well-kept park. Our site (#18) was raked and ready for us. The sunset was absolutely spectacular. We woke up in the morning to a mom and litter of fox kits playing outside our...

Tip for Other Campers:
Kayenta is a couple mile walk from the rim/edge. I was expecting it to be closer. Still amazing views but definitely keep walking or drive down to the lookout for the best scenes.
“Top tier park with a massive fun factor! ”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
This is a small campground situated in the heart of the hoo doos. Its quiet, serene, and gorgeous. Its also very hot! Our site was flat and level and we were within 30 feet of the hoo doos. Shower...
