Visit Mitskas Market for specialty cheeses and crackers, Brainstorm Bakery for fresh sourdough bread, and Ben Franklin for all kinds of things. There is a car wash in Ely. Verizon cell reception was great at the campground. Take the trail to see the Kawishiwi Falls just west of the Camprounds.

Bring plenty of food and drinks with you for your stay. The prices for everything in town are ridiculous - pretty much double what you would normally pay for things. You kind of feel ripped off. We took the hiking trail to Magnetic Rock it was well worth the trip. Verizon cell service is excellent.
