Question: We are considering staying here in the winter months? Are there any thoughts or considerations regarding a winter stay? We drove my the campground, have talked to the owner, but not seen it yet. Thanks so much. Marion
Answer:
Having stayed at Cathead Creek several times now, including during last winter, I can say it was great! Only twice did temps get below freezing, down to 28, and warmed up the next day. No problem with water lines freezing as just leaving a faucet slightly dripping during a freeze stopped any frozen line. Park feels like family, owners Lynn and James live on site, and people are helpful, keeping an eye out for you and security is wonderful with only one entance, security lights and cameras. Park is out in the country, about 3 miles from the interstate so it is very quiet. Keep in mind that this is not a "destination park", no pool, but it truly is a gem and an absolute pleasure to stay there. Lots of places closeby to visit, with historic Savannah 1 hour north, Jacksonville Florida about 1 hour south, Brunswick about 15 minutes south with plenty of shopping and restaurants. And the islands, Jeykll and St.Simons are also close by....
Question: Is there a place where a dog can stretch their legs and run?
Answer:
Although management wants pets on leash when walking around the park, there is a large open field when I saw many people let there dogs off leash and be free to run or chase a frisbee....
