“Bring bug spray!”
Nightly Rate: $25 USD
Park was a good stopover location however it needs a lot of TLC. The bath houses were dilapidated externally with missing shingles and danaged trim but internally fairly clean. The sites are...

Boating is an option but because the lake is so low, you are driving on soft sand if you need to launch a boat. Looks like someone got stuck in the sand before we arrived by the size of the rutsnin the shoreline below the ramp....
“Great couple of nights layover”
Nightly Rate: $15 USD
We had a couple of nights in Site 49 near the lake. As usual, the COE site had great clean facilities with easy access roads and spacious back in sites. We camped at Cottonwood in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:
Visited the nearby Gavin Point Dam visitors center which is just over the dam and into Nebraska. Drove around nearby Yankton and topped up our groceries and diesel for the following day's drive....
“Easy access of the interstate”
Nightly Rate: $43 USD
Great stay just in time before the campsite closed for the winter and the owners headed back to Arizona. Pull through full hookup site with only a small number of other campers, a couple of longer...

Tip for Other Campers:
Very handy for visit to Souix City to visit the Lewis and Clark museum. Of particular note is that due to replacing the ramp and access road, there is no re-entry to the Northbound I29 at Sloan and there is no warning of this as you approach Sloan from the South! So if you need gas or diesel beware and plan accordingly! Not much happening in Onawa while we...
