So Key West is about 40 miles away (1hr). I am not sure if there is a public transportation but you can try Uber or ask around when you there. Parking there is tough. We had 32 feet motorhome and it was even tougher. One of the private parking's near the Southernmost point was $60 for two hours. We started asking around and found a place within walking distance to all attractions. Name of the place is "Key West Wildlife Center" they have a decent size parking lot and its across from public beach. We did ask if we can park there our 32 Ft motorhome and they said absolutely yes as long as we don't stay overnight. So it possible to park for FREE even at Key West. I hope that I answer some of your questions....

Key West is about 40 miles away. A shuttle service is available near this campground. I parked in Key West with a 1/2 ton crew cab without issues....

Parking at Key west is awfully challenging. We never found any in town where all the touristy shopping was, but we weren’t looking real hard. If there is a lot of pedestrian traffic from a ship coming in, driving in town is even worse. It is not a bad drive from Sunshine Key, maybe 30 to 45 minutes....

Key West is forty miles from the RV park. It takes under an hour to get there. There is a public bus that goes up and down the keys. I've not taken it so have no experience. Parking is hard in some parts of the key such as around Duval Street. On the east end of the island, it's no problem. I usually drive, park in front of the airport in the park and bicycle into town....

Key West is basically shut down right now 3/24/20. No Bars, Restaurants, non-essential stores, and hotels. Parking is very tight in Old Town. There was a free "Key West Loop" bus that stopped at the Publix/Sears shopping center on Roosevelt as you come in to town, before Corvid-19, hopefully it will be back. There tended to be spaces for large pickups at the South end of Southard St, $4/hr, it is on the loop route. We recommend the Free Ecodiscovery Center there also, great overview of the Keys ecology and free parking lot, (currently closed). Private lots can be $30 to $60 a day. Almost all street parking is metered, $4/hr with credit card payment....

The shuttle stops right out front of the campground, and takes a little over an hour to get to Key West stops. You'll have to buy a day pass, but I don't recall it being too expensive. The ride sucks, especially after a long day. Parking is better for your truck (I drive a Denali dually) along the waterfront towards the airport. My suggestion is to bring the bikes, park down there by the waterfront, and ride your bikes into town. I could navigate the streets, but it'd be a PITA....
