• Question:

I tried forever to book a site here. Followed all of the rules booking six months in advance etc. There never was a site available for our motorhome. We are 37 feet. I even tried calling the park only to be disconnected each time. What is the secret for all of you that have obtained a site?...

Tlyst011,I feel your pain. It can be very frustrating to try and try to get a reservation. For really popular sites you may want to be logged in to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website and ready to hit the "reserve" button just after midnight six months in advance. CPW opens site reservations at 12:00 am. Good luck.Campfire Fred...

Because it’s a state park, they might limit reservations to 35’ rigs....

I had to look back through my calendar for the answer. We have a similar size Class A and I got the site I wanted, but it's because I set my alarm to make the reservation at 3am EST 6 months in advance. Unfortunately, that's what you need to do....

I had to put my RV at 29' to reserve our spot. Don't know if that is what got us in or just happened to have an opening when I clicked on the site. I tried for two years to get a spot there. Well worth the effort. Good Luck!!...

Hi Tlyst011, We stayed in Gobbler Cove. Our rig is 38' and we had site 11 which is a pull through. However, the sites directly across 12, 13, 14, and 15 all had RVs as big as ours. I had already scoped out which spots I wanted. My first attempt was off by an hour because of the time zone difference and when I realized this jumped back on at 2am in the morning. Luckily site 11 was available and I booked it. There were only 5 sites available at the time we were going which was last two weeks in September 2024. It is a high demand camp ground, keep trying it is worth the headache of trying to book in the early am hours....

I echo what most have said. I live in Colorado Springs so I know that Cheyenne Mtn is VERY hard to book. But we were there in May this year with a group of 4 and we all got sites. The key, as many have mentioned, is being ready at midnight mountain time. And you can usually see the length limit with certain views of the reservation site - try clicking "details" when you look at a specific site. Good luck. The campground is worth the hassle. Also, try some of tahe "bot" reservations apps that will pick up cancellations. I use wanderinglabs.com (free) but many people like ArVie.com (paid subscr) as well....

Not much more to say that has been said already. My son (lives in the Springs) booked a pull thru for us. Think he is a member or supporter of Colorado State Parks. He was an avid camper! Best of luck!!...

I just booked way in advance. Maybe, I just got lucky. You have to book during the opening moments of the 6th month window. Camp site planning has become a competitive sport....
