I have used it in the past. AMTRAC provides service from the downtown F-burg station into DC. There is also the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) commuter train that provides several runs northbound in the morning and southbound in the afternoon during commuter rush hours. VRE runs more trains from more locations and is less expensive than AMTRAC, but is a little slower due to the multiple stops, and only runs on weekdays. I think VRE is $22 round trip, but it's been a year or two since I've ridden it and prices probably changed. You can find details about their current schedules & prices at their websites....
