We always get there and check-in’ earlyif your site isn’t ready, there is an overflow parking lot that you are welcome to. Once you are parked, you have access to all the amenities, including the internal and external bus transportation. In addition, if it’s still available, you can visit the water park for free on your day of check-in. Hope this helps....

We pulled in about an hour early and they did assign us our spot. They also have a parking area to wait in if need be....

Yes, you can request early check-in at Fort Wilderness, but it's not guaranteed, and the official check-in time is 3:00PM. You can check in early by using the My Disney Experience app and indicating your estimated arrival time, and the resort will notify you when your site is ready....

We were just there recently and we arrived about 4 hours before 'check-in' and our site was available and they let us go right in. As others have said, there is a large overflow lot available right next to the gate if your site isn't ready. You can still take busses from there to anywhere in the Disney ecosystem or up to the Trading Post area to kill some time if you need to....

We ended up arriving early - they checked and said out spot was avail, and we were allowed to check in. Disney is normally very accommodating - just check ahead....
