Question:
Mon Aug 28 2017We have a reservation here in September. A friend visited the area and has the same 5W as I do and he said that this campground would be very tight and difficult to manuver our 35' fifth wheel. Anyone agree, disagree? Comments please as I may need to cancel. Thanks....

We stayed at Lightner Creek last year over Labor Day in a 25' Airstream. Our spot was a back-in on the creek and we were parked next to a 5th wheel approximately the size of yours (we looked like it's guest quarters!). There were also other big 5th wheels in the park and the owners escorted everyone to their spot. There are also a number of pull-thru sites that are quite long. Don't recall seeing any Class A rigs, but there were everything from pop-ups to 5th wheels in the park. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if back in the Durango area....

The campground is small, but there were several class A's there during our stay last fall. With a 30' fifth, our back-in space next to the creek was good. We did have to angle park the truck, but there was more room in the rear - we just didn't feel it was worth the effort to move a little further back. From the entrance, past the office, down to the creek is very steep, but should pose no problems. They do have a few pull through's, so you may want to request one specifically. But, they are very helpful, so if you call to express your concern, I am sure they will site you well....

We have a 26' trailer and had no problem at all. You should be fine...

There were plenty of big rigs when we were there. We were only 42' overall with toad, so not as long as you, but you should be fine. Also, it shouldn't be full then, which should help. It was packed when we were there around July 4....

We’ve stayed with our 35’ 5th wheel. Didn’t have any problems. One site took some time to back in but it was a fantastic site. Many pull throughs if needed. Great location near downtown....
