Mon Jun 21 2021I have stayed at sites along the Texas coast and found the sea are very corrosive. I this the case being so close to the bay? Have never stayed in Oregon, so I apologize if this is not an intelligent question....

No its not the same at all. I am from SE Texas and can assure you its worth staying on the coast here. Doesn't have the same feel at all you are talking about. We have been up here a couple times and planning again this summer. Love the Oregon coast....
