      Based on the information you've given, unless he qualifies to use any base facilities, I don't believe he is eligible to use the military FamCamps. A simple phone call to any military RV campgrounds will answer your question better. Kirkland AFB FamCamp number is: (505) 846-0337...

      This is what I copied off the US Military Campground website--"Authorized users are Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, Retired Military, 0-100% DAV, Purple Heart Recipients, Former POW, Veteran Caregivers, DoD Civilians. Read this article www.militarycampgrounds.us/authorized-users". As I understand it being a veteran does not qualify him, he has to be retired from the military and have a military ID card....

      Unless you have a Green, Blue or Red military ID card, or an equivalent DoD/civil service ID card, no you wouldn't qualify....

      There is an access veterans (not retired ftom the military) with disabilities from the VA. It is called the VHIC card, that gives access to MWR stuff, the PX/BX and the commissary. There is a different rate for VHIC card holders.......

      If your husband has a VA Card that states "service connected" then he is eligable for most Fam Camps, regardless of % of disability....

      If you have a VA ID card or Veterans Health ID card you can make reservations at most active duty fam camps and RV parks. State National Guard bases vary on mission requirements as many are used as geo bachelor AGR housing....
