Hollywood Casino Hotel & RV Resort

This casino rv park is an hour away from Chicago. It is off I-80 in a mostly industrial area. We have stayed there twice, once before the pandemic and once after. Both times we felt safe. The casino has security that patrols both the casino parking lot and the rv park....

I agree with Ruger58 ... We've stayed there several times and never felt any issues with safety. And, never saw anyone walking around that didn't belong there....

DITTO Ruger & denny. I stayed there twice and never had any issues or concerns about whether or not this RV park with safe. And, we stayed for more than just an overnighter....

I would imagine its got about the same risk as any Campground within an hour of any large city. The south side of Chicago is quite a long drive from there. That casino didn't really have an Urban feel to it when we were there last August. That said, its not a destination campground by any stretch of the imagination....

This is outside of Chicago, which is one reason we chose it. You do have to go through a small section of an industrial area to reach it but it never felt unsafe. We never saw anyone walking around (either in or near the RV park) that didn’t belong there....

I lived in this area for 20 plus years. Joliet is not the Southside of Chicago. It's a South suburb with areas that are lovely and others you need to avoid. There's a lot to do in the area and easy train transportation to Chicago. It's a beautiful city to visit, especially in the Summer. Great museums and sights like Navy Pier and the Architectural river tour....
