      We only spent one night at Eastbank and didn't do any fishing. I didn't see any of the other campers fishing from the shore and I only recall seeing one boat go by while I was photographing a beautiful sunset over probably an hour. We were there May 18th and I don't recall any bug issues. It's definitely a beautiful campground and I wouldn't hesitate returning....

      I also do not fish, so I cannot answer that. I was there in October, so did not notice a lot of insects....

      We have stopped in at Eastbank COE many times over the years. The hosts always warn us about the sugar ants that are found in the campground and tell how to prevent them getting into the camper. Other bugs have not been a problem for us. I have seen many folks fishing both from bank and in boats. Have observed others catching fish although I have not fished myself. You might go over to the gatehouse at the dam and fish from rocks near the overflow gates....

      We camped over Fourth of July and bugs were definitely active. May fly season is posted as being trom April to September. Hubby got bit by some type of fly in the morning when we were hitching up to leave. Every site has a fish cleaning station, and there is a large, screened in one by the guard shack. The area is well known for bass tournaments, so fishing must be good. Campground has a boat launch....
