Question:
Mon Jun 05 2023I see there are restrictions on height (10ft 8in) for going over Mackinac Bridge and also restrictions on tonneau covers. Has anyone had any problems crossing the bridge with only 5 in clearance above camper and a tonneau cover (backflip type) on truck?...

The 10' 8" clearance is for passing under the bridge in Mackinaw City. You can get to all of the campgrouds in Mackinaw City without goign near this low cearance area. If you are on I-75 you will have no clearance issues, I have taken fifth wheels over the bridge at 13' 6" many times. The rule on tonneau covers only applies if there is a partial closure of the bridge due to high winds (55 MPH to 60 MPH) ... High profile vehilces are not allowed to cross the bridge under these conditions so you really don't need to worry about the tonneau cover rule....
