Bugs were not a problem in late April for us. Bay side is marshes and less windy than the Oceanside which is windy and sandy. We much prefer the bay side....

April isn’t so bad, the bay side is always more buggy than the ocean side. Enjoy your stay it’s a great park....

Bugs won't get bad until May. Also, keep in mind that the bugs are worst if the wind is coming from the west (from the bay)....
