Tips from campers about Gakona, AK
- Doreen_325 Sturbridge, MA has a ton of antique stores, as does close by Brimfield, MA. We did most of our main grocery store shopping in Manchester, which was only about 40 minutes away, but also found a Big Y World Class Market in Southbridge, MA, which was less than 15 min away. We are always on the lookout for ice cream shops; Wicked Licks in Sturbridge is a cute shop, with great ice cream and vegan options. We also recommend you-pick-em apples. We picked them at Buell's Orchard and had a great experience - lots of options and copious amounts of apples.6 months ago Thousand Trails Sturbridge
- Jenksy Publick House was great for lunch. Nice, easy drive to Lexington and Concord Waldon Pond was lovely, but commercialized and crowded -- We preferred Wells State Park (you can camp there too) -- It was quiet, empty and had a beautiful lake and trails - next time, we will camp there !! Tree House Brewery not far from campsite has weekend entertainment and is an enormous property near a nature preserve, picnic space, food trucks, adirondack chairs overlooking a beautiful view. We did not go into Boston or Salem, but both are about an hour and a half away.7 months ago Thousand Trails Sturbridge
- TravisL6 Nearby Sturbridge Village, 3 mins from Dunks, 5 mins from Cinnabon, lots of state parks nearby, Yankee liquors 10/10, tons and tons of antique stores and great restaurants. Only 15 minutes from Walmart and Stop and Shop for those last minute necessities you forget. Close and yet you still feel away from it all8 months ago Thousand Trails Sturbridge
