“Spacious Campground Open When Others Were Closed ”
Nightly Rate: $78 USD
Nice campground. Pricy as is the case with most KOAs. Stays open longer in the season than our usual go-to campground in Palmer. We camped at Palmer / Anchorage North KOA Journey in a Travel Trailer.

Tips from campers about Palmer / Anchorage North KOA Journey
- DoryJ Choctaw Nation Museum and Talimena Scenic Byway nearby and both are worth a visit. The location is a food desert with closest real grocery store 30 minutes away and Walmart 53 miles. Choctaw Travel Center in Clayton has the closest thing to a grocery store with some fresh meats and produce, enough to get you by and surprisingly reasonable prices. We had lunch at Southern Lark in Clayton and it was good enough. 3 or 4 days max ok here.6 months ago Potato Hills Central
- Sonny Payne 3 Be sure to have a bite of fantastic barbecue at Outlaw Barbecue in Talihina and if you get the chance, visit Loveras Italian Market in Krebs for great cheeses and charcuterie. Tip for Other Campers:
All the grocery, etc stores you could want within 10 - 15 min drive. Nearby Chepos Mexican is terrific! Great 1 mile easy loop trail 10 min drive Refkection lake. Also Thunderbird Falls trail is great too. Head up to Hatchers Pass and see the Independence Mine. If you drive into Anchorage, dont miss Mooses Tooth Pub & Pizzeria. Earthquake Park is good too....
